Vincent Middle School (VMS) announced a partnership with the Alpha Alpha Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., initiated on March 25, representing a significant milestone in ongoing efforts to provide enriching experiences and opportunities for Vincent students.

“I believe Vincent needs more positive Black male role models on campus. This is where my idea was initially sparked. I can only imagine how different the school atmosphere could be once the Sigmas have a strong and established presence on campus,” said David Bacon, a Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity member and educator at VMS.

The decision to partner with Phi Beta Sigma stems from a reported shared vision of creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially and emotionally as part of its national adopta-school program.

“We recognize the invaluable role that positive role models play in shaping the lives of our students, particularly our young men,” stated VMS Principal Dr. Shylunda Randle-Filer. “Through initiatives such as the ‘Rise and Thunder’ curriculum, students at VMS can develop essential skills, values, and cultural awareness to prepare them for future success.
