March 30, The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported investigation of a two-vehicle crash on Interstate Highway 10, west of Orange.
According to the preliminary crash investigation, at 4:12 a.m., a 2021 Jeep Cherokee was traveling west, while a 2024 Kenworth towing a 2025 Hyundai trailer was parked on the west bound shoulder of Interstate 10. It was reported the Jeep’s driver fell asleep while driving, failed to maintain a single lane of travel, and struck the parked trailer in the rear.
The Jeep’s driver, Gavin Johnson, 25, of Oakdale, La. was transported to Christus-St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Kenworth, Ismael Calleros-Camarillo, 46, of Mexico and one passenger identified as Omar Camarillo, 48, of Mexico, were not injured.
