Two Jefferson County precinct offices have closed and asked staffers to quarantine after two maintenance workers tested positive for COVID-19, confirms Commissioner Michael Sinegal of Precinct 3.

Sinegal's office had to shut down operations after a maintenance worker got positive test results back this week. The commissioner said the worker is now "doing better," but experienced flu-like symptoms for days before a doctor recommended he call the COVID-19 call center to be tested. Another worker in Precinct 1 tested positive for COVID-19 this week, leading to the closure of its offices.

Sinegal said he expects to be operational again by next Wednesday, but will extend his workers' quarantine if needed.
