A very tricky forecast this weekend which will essentially become "nowcasting" as radar and surface observations will become more important this weekend.
Mild weather can be expected for today with highs in the middle to upper 60s, just a few showers will be possible. Widespread rain and a few thunderstorms can be expected Saturday with some isolated rainfall totals of 1-3 inches in some locations.Temperatures will begin to fall with reading dropping into the 30s very late in the evening Saturday.
With rain continuing Sunday morning, temperatures will slide to the freezing mark with a mixture of freezing rain and sleet pushing southeast to around Interstate 10. Freezing rain accumulations to around 1/4 of an inch will be possible where freezing rain falls with any precipitation ending by early afternoon Sunday.
A hard freeze can be expected both Monday and Tuesday.
