JCSO investigates murdered teen

After finding the body of a 16-year-old girl with a gunshot wound in rural Jefferson County, officers arrested a 22-year-old man.

Local detectives have arrested Cody Arnold for murder after finding the deceased girl’s body in the 14000 block of Kolb’s Corner, a road near Highway 124 between Hamshire and Fannett. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office found out about the crime at about 5 p.m. Sunday, March 27, according to a news release. The body was transported to the Jefferson County Morgue for an autopsy, and the victim’s name has not been released.

Arnold was arrested at the home, and his bond has been set at $1 million. Detectives advise that the investigation into other suspects is ongoing.
