Residents of Jasper will be able to access expanded demand curb-to–curb public transportation services beginning Sept. 1. Residents can start calling to make a trip reservation now.
Through a partnership with the South East Texas Regional Planning Commission (SETRPC) and Nutrition and Services for Seniors, the South East Texas Transit (SETT) will continue to provide pick-up and drop-off services for Jasper residents utilizing wheelchair-accessible vehicles. The service will transport passengers from their homes to destinations within the city and return them.
According to SETT, the service will expand operations with service available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Reservations will be required and organizers recommend making reservations at least 48 hours in advance. Same-day service will be subject to availability.
Cost of the service will be $1 each way. Rates and times will be subject to change. To schedule a ride, residents can contact Nutrition and Services for Seniors at (800) 259-4457 or (409) 892-0979.
This program is being funded by the Texas Department of Transportation Public Transportation Division (PTN) Service Expansion Program (SEP).
