Sour Lake Farmers Market opening
The grand opening of the Sour Lake Farmers Market is Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Lions Club Park on South Ann Street. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be homegrown produce and products available, along with homemade crafts and goods, and educational booths.

Go-Texan scholarship fundraiser set
The third annual Hardin County Go-Texan Valentine and Steak Dinner Scholarship Fundraiser is Tuesday, Feb. 14 at the Honky Tonk in Silsbee. Tickets are $60 per person with only 200 tickets for sale. Ticket includes choice of 12 oz. Ribeye Steak or Pork Chop, two joining sides and dessert and 75-minute private acoustic concert by Glen Templeton. H-J Op-Grad garage sale
The Hardin-Jefferson High School Class of 2023 will host a garage sale on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sour Lake Community Center, 250 North Ann St.
Big Thicket hosting volunteer planting events
Big Thicket National Preserve is expanding the volunteer longleaf pine planting efforts to ecosystem-wide planting events this winter. Volunteers can join park staff and partners to plant longleaf pine and native grasses this winter. The third and final event will take place on Presidents’ Day, Feb. 20, 2023. During the events, the area surrounding the planting areas will be closed for hunting. Notices will be posted a week in advance in those locations.

Clays For Carido Shoot-Out March 11
The seventh annual Clays For Carido Shoot-Out, presented by the Cardiovascular Foundation of Southeast Texas, is Saturday, March 11 at the 1-In-100 Gun Club, located at 1228 FM 421 in Lumberton. Individuals can register online at sextcardiofound.com. Registration and a light breakfast begins at 8 a.m., followed by a mandatory safety briefing. The flight begins at 9 a.m. At 11 a.m., activities for the children and live music gets underway. At noon, lunch will be provided by Courville's.

Hawks Open Golf Tournament March 18
The first-ever Hawks Open Golf Tournament is Saturday, March 18 at Idywild County Club. Registration is 8 a.m. and the shotgun start is 9:15 a.m. There will be a lunch, awards and auction afterwards. Registration is $400 per team or $100 per person.

Lumberton ISD will host its 2023 Job Fair in the Performing Arts Center from 4-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 20.
Golf tournament fundraise is April 28
The annual CASA Classic Golf Tournament is Friday, April 28 at the Wildwood Golf Course. The tournament is a four-person scramble and cost $400 per team. First flight check-in and breakfast is 7 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8 a.m. At noon, the second flight check-in and lunch and the shotgun start is 1:30 p.m. Range ball available before each flight.
