According to the Governor’s Commission for Women, female business leaders from each region of the state have the opportunity to enter a Pitch Competition to receive a $7,500 award from The Beacon State Fund.

The Governor’s Commission for Women is dedicated to advancing economic opportunities for Texas women and making Texas the top state for women-owned businesses.

“Texas is already highly ranked as a state for women entrepreneurs to thrive, as it is home to five of the top 50 fastest growing women-owned/led companies in 2020 (Groupon, OnePoll) and was named the top women-owned business friendly state in 2020 by MaxFilings,” according to a news release from the commission. “To further the advancement of successful women entrepreneurs and pave the way for new female business leaders, the Governor’s Commission for Women is proud to announce a new Webinar Series to empower female business leaders throughout the Lone Star State. In addition to the Webinar Series, female business leaders from each region of the state have the opportunity to enter the Pitch Competition.”

In partnership with The Beacon State Fund, the Governor’s Commission for Women will host a series of informative webinars for each region of Texas to share information about resources for women-owned small businesses and women entrepreneurs in Texas. The webinar series is an opportunity for attendees to learn from subject-matter experts and gain actionable advice about starting, growing and sustaining a business in the regions of Texas. The webinars will feature a variety of top leaders who will give key insights on an array of topics, including marketing, social media, funding, ecommerce and more.
