Orange County officials shuttered the Double Diamond Game Room Aug. 3 -
The Double Diamond Game Room located on N. Main Street in Vidor
After finding the Double Diamond Game Room out of compliance with “several portions” of Orange County’s gaming ordinance Aug. 3, detectives initiated the process of terminating the business’ operation for an indefinite amount of time.
On Wednesday, Aug. 3, detectives with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) Narcotics Division performed a game room compliance check at the Double Diamond Game Room located at 5320 N. Main in Vidor.
Once inside, law enforcement noticed the game room was out of compliance with several portions of the Orange County Gaming Regulations Ordinance, as well as being in violation of state law (Gambling Promotion/Keeping A Gambling Place).
Detectives contacted Orange County Health and Code Enforcement Deputy Director James Scales for the ordinance violations. Scales arrived and began the process of terminating the process of this business operating, indefinitely.
“Detectives seized an amount of U.S. currency and other items that will be used as evidence in this case,” reported OCSO detectives. “An investigation into engaging in organized criminal activity is ongoing.
“The Orange County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Orange County Health and Code Enforcement, and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for working together to revoke this establishment’s ability to operate and for future prosecution of the suspect(s). (OCSO) is committed to ridding Orange County of these crime-attracting establishments.”
