Former Beaumont mayor dies at 85

William E. “Bill” Neild, 85, mayor of Beaumont in the 1980s, died Wednesday, Aug. 24.

A gathering of Mr. Neild’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Ave. His funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3430 Harrison Ave., with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
