A 67-year-old woman, Lydia Aaron Reed, died in a house fire in south Jefferson County on May 15.
Authorities said the fire was reported about 2:30 p.m. in the 18000 block of Kiker Road between Hamshire and Winnie. Firefighters from Jefferson County ESD No. 5 and Winnie-Stowell Fire Department responded to the scene. The State Fire Marshal’s Office in Nacogdoches was called to investigate the cause of the fire.
