PAPD officers were investigating a loud noise disturbance in the 5100 block of 7th Street around 11 p.m. May 15, according to a news release, when a pickup truck struck a patrol car and one of the officers on scene.
The Texas Dept. of Public Safety was summoned to the scene to investigate the crash. The male operator was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for intoxication assault.
The officer was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and was later released.
