BPD investigates morning shooting

Just before 6 a.m. Feb. 16, Beaumont police responded to the 100 block of E. Florida in reference to shots fired, according to a news release.

Upon arrival, officers  made contact with a 45-year-old man who was standing outside of his apartment. He told officers he was inside of his apartment when he saw a light enter a window. Suddenly, shots were fired from outside of the residence, and he was struck.
 

After the gunfire stopped, he exited the residence and saw three unknown black men leaving the apartments headed north on Highland Ave. Beaumont EMS arrived on the scene and transported him to the hospital. He has non-life threatening injuries and was listed in fair condition.
