This past weekend Beaumont ISD received notice that two staff members who work at the Administration Building tested positive for COVID-19, according to a news release.

From the release:

"The employees were at the facility last on Thursday, July 23. During distribution the employees wore appropriate PPE, followed frequent sterilization measures and did not come in direct contact with any member of the public. As such, the Health Department has advised that the risk of someone contracting COVID-19 from the employees is low and this notice is being provided in an abundance of caution. Nevertheless, BISD has been in close communication with officials at the Beaumont Public Health Department, and the District is following all recommended protocols.

"Members of the public that visited the building in the last week should continue to closely monitor their health. Should you exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19 contact your health provider immediately. In addition, please continue all other safeguards outlined by the CDC including frequently washing your hands with soap and water, avoiding touching your face, staying home if you feel sick, and cleaning frequently touched surfaces and objects daily. The health and safety of our community is our top priority and we appreciate your cooperation as we work through these challenges as a community."
