Beaumonter arrested for murder

Around 2:30 p.m. Sept. 26, Beaumont police responded to the 2400 block of E. Lucas in reference to a shooting, according to a news release.

Upon arrival, officers found a deceased victim, identified as Kevin Kennebrew, 49, of Beaumont. Witnesses advised that the suspect fled on foot, the release reads, but was apprehended in the area of Calder and 10th Street.

Jeremy Demond Tyler, 42, of Beaumont was transported to the Jefferson County Jail and booked for murder. The investigation is ongoing.
