An 18-year-old Beaumonter was indicted Jan. 27 on 10 counts of child pornography possession, including videos of children as young as two, according to a probable cause affidavit.

On Aug. 12, 2020, officers executed a search warrant at the home of Jacob Daniel Bastian as a result of a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The report revealed Bastian was uploading child pornography to a cloud storage account. Officers describe various videos of boys and girls between two and 13-years-old engaging in sexual acts.

Officers found lewd videos of children on Bastian’s iPhone, according to the probable cause affidavit. The teen, who was 17 at the time of his arrest, was in possession of videos that depicted children engaging in sexual acts with one another, as well as with adults and animals.

During interviews with detectives, Bastian confessed to having care, custody and control of the cloud storage account reported by the NCMEC tip line, as well as having numerous files of child pornography on his cell phone. Additionally, Bastian confessed to exchanging files of child pornography in online chat rooms with other offenders.

Bastian's name did not appear on the Jefferson County inmate roster Jan. 28.
