According to a Nov. 30 news release, Beaumont detectives obtained murder warrants for two local men allegedly responsible for a murder that occured Nov. 22.

BPD obtained muder warrants for Deshaun Tremaine Manuel and Joseph Gerard Mathews. Manuel turned himself in and was transported to the Jefferson County Jail, but Matthews is still at large. Those with information about Matthews’ whereabouts are asked to call Beaumont police at (409) 832-1234 or contact Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers at (409) 833-TIPS.

From the original release:

“At approximately 2:45 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, officers responded to 1658 Glasshouse St. in reference to a victim of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located Jacoby Jackson, a 25-year-old Beaumont man, deceased in the roadway from an apparent gunshot wound. Another victim, a 20-year-old Beaumont man, was transported by private auto to Christus St. Elizabeth with non-life threatening gunshot wounds. He was treated and released. 

“Jacoby’s next of kin was on scene. There was a large crowd at the location, according to the release, and witnesses have not been cooperative. Detectives are in the preliminary stages of the investigation and are following all leads.”
