Two Chick-fil-A locations in Beaumont (College Street location and Dowlen Road) were closed Monday as employees were tested for COVID-19 at an old fire station on College Street, announced Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick.

The testing frenzy was spurred by four confirmed cases among employees at the Beaumont locations, according to Branick. In all, 114 Chick-fil-A employees were tested, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and concluded around 1 p.m.

“The owners of Chick-fil-A did everything appropriate once they discovered their employees may have infected individuals,” he said. “They took the adequate steps to sanitize their facilities, and we’re happy with what they’ve done.”
