A 27-year-old Nederland man accused of owning child pornography is set to appear before Judge Raquel West Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Zachary Allen Simon was arrested Oct. 1 on 10 counts of child pornography possession, according to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO).

Oct. 1, criminal investigators with the Texas Office of the Attorney General’s Child Exploitation Unit, along JCSO criminal investigators executed an evidentiary search warrant at a residence in Nederland in reference to possession or promotion of child pornography.

This search warrant was the result of a National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) cyber tip line report involving the upload of child pornography to an online storage account. Police seized evidence and arrested Simon before booking him into the Jefferson County Jail on 10 counts of possession of child pornography, all third-degree felonies.

Simon posted bond Oct. 5 and was not listed on the Jefferson County Jail roster Sept. 3. If found guilty, he could face a maximum 10-year sentence and $10,000 fine for each offense.
