April 17, Beaumont Police Department officers responded at 8:08 a.m. to Walden Road and Fannett Road for a traffic incident.
A Toyota SUV was stopped at the intersection waiting to turn when a semitruck carrying two 10-ton weights lost its load, causing the weights to strike the rear of the SUV.
The SUV driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, and the semitruck driver was cited for an unsecured load.
Northbound lanes of Fannett Road were closed for cleanup but later reopened.
