Porchfest is a nationwide initiative that began in Ithaca, New York in 2007 that helps bring local musicians and neighborhoods together, with the goal of building community and encouraging neighbors to meet and mingle.

The event will showcase local talent as well as the neighborhood association which, in the past, has helped with projects such as the Ida Reed Dog Park, sponsorship of the City of Beaumont’s Dogtoberfest, an annual scholarship for local college students, the art bike racks along Calder, and several Little Free Libraries, among others.

The Oaks Historic District Neighborhood Association “The Oaks Historic District” is the largest historic district in Texas, and is home to both the Chambers House Museum and the McFaddin-Ward House Museum. The Oaks Historic District Neighborhood Association is a nonprofit organization that exists for the purpose of maintaining and improving the quality of life within the neighborhood while also recognizing and enhancing its historical and cultural importance to the city of Beaumont.
