Jimmy Simmons Jazz Festival

Lamar University will host the fourth annual Jimmy Simmons Jazz Festival scheduled for Saturday April 1, at 7:30 p.m. inside the historic Jefferson Theatre (345 Fannin St.) in downtown Beaumont. The evening will also feature a performance by 17-time Grammy nominated band, the Yellowjackets.

Cajun Heritage Fest

Crawfish, dancing, live music, food and more will be on the menu Saturday, April 1, during the Cajun Heritage Music Fest from noon to 9 p.m. at the Carl A. Parker Multipurpose Center on the campus of Lamar State College Port Arthur (1800 Lakeshore Drive).

Art in the Park

The Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau will host the 21st annual Art in the Park and fourth annual Orange Riverfront Car Show on Saturday, April 1. These events will join forces to provide a day full of fun from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Classic Movie Night at the Jefferson

It’s a Classic Movie Night Double Feature on Friday, March 31, with the showing of “2001: A Space Odyssey” and “Dark Star” at 7 p.m. Tickets are $4-$6 and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com or at the Jefferson Theatre (345 Fannin St.), evening of the show.

Good day for a great time at the fair

The YMBL South Texas State Fair has been an extraordinary experience for nearly eight decades. The fair continues to grow and make memories whether it’s the delicious fried foods, fun rides, rodeos or the more than 175 vendors – everyone has a great time at the fair.

‘Anastasia’

The Lutcher Theater will host two nights of the romantic and adventure-filled new musical, “Anastasia,” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, and Friday, March 31.

Classic Movie Night at the Jefferson

Beaumont Events will present a special night of movies Friday, March 24, with the showing of the 1923 silent comedy film, “Safety Last,” which will also feature a live score by organist Brett Valliant on the Robert Morton Organ at the Jefferson Theatre at 7 p.m.

‘The Outsiders’
