Southeast Texas “Swifties” will have a chance to “Shake it Off” in “Style” as the Taylor Swift Laser Dance Party makes a stop at Ford Park on Friday, July 14. Tickets start at $20 and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com or the Ford Park box office (5115 Interstate 10 South) in Beaumont.

Classic Movie Night

The Jefferson Theatre will show three movies in two days beginning Friday, June 30, with a double feature – “Jaws” and “Tremors.” Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $4 for kids, $6 for adults, and can be purchased online at ticket- master.com or at the venue, evening of the show.

Colossal book on display at Stark Museum of Art

Books date back to the 2nd and 3rd centuries, when the Romans created a “codex,” which is an ancient book form with individual sheets of papyrus, parchment, or paper folded in half and sewn together at the fold. The reader would open the pages to reveal two columns of text that shared a page.
