Beaumont Community Players presents “9 to 5 – The Musical” on Sept. 15-16, Sept. 22-23 and Sept. 28-30. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Thursday-Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sept. 23.

Symphony

The Symphony of Southeast Texas will begin their 71st season Saturday, Sept. 16, with “Elegance of Dance” at the Julie Rogers Theatre at 7:30 p.m.  The concert begins with Verdi’s “Nabucco Overture,” the opera that launched Verdi’s career as an operatic composer, a career that made him famous.

Massive motorcycle parade headed to Beaumont

Motorcycles have a history that dates back to the second half of the 19th century. In 1894, Hildebrand & Wolfmüller were the first to produce a “motorcycle,” and it didn’t take long before Indian Motorcycle Manufacturing Company and Harley-Davidson came along to help explode its popularity.

The Oaks Event Center will host an Elvis tribute featuring Al Joslin with special guest Shake, Rattle & Roll on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 5 p.m. Tickets are $27 and can be purchased online at theoakseventcenter.com.
