The Imperial Calcasieu Museum in nearby Lake Charles, Louisiana, will host an opening reception for their newest exhibit, “Wanderlust,” which features the work of Beaumont photographer Jerome Cabeen, on Friday, Aug. 25, from 6-8 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.

Cabeen, an a w a r d - w i n n i n g photographer with a bachelor’s in fine arts from Sam Houston State and master’s degree in ministry and theology from the University of Dallas, has taught art around the world. His photography has carried him around the globe, capturing the incredible people and places on Earth with three cameras – Canon 5D Mark IV, Mamiya RB67 and 35MM Canon Tx.

“Wanderlust is not always about distance, but rather about the deep experience of living in the moment, the now,” said Cabeen. “Now that is the wondrous excitement of life.”

The Imperial Calcasieu Museum is located at 204 W. Sallier St. in Lake Charles.
