Beaumont Events’ “13 Nights of Halloween” at the Jefferson Theatre begins Tuesday, Oct. 1, with the showing 1977 Italian epic supernatural horror film, “Suspiria” in 4K. The film stars Jessica Harper as an American ballet student who transfers to a prestigious dance academy but realizes, after a series of murders, that the academy is a front for a coven of witches. The film is the first of the trilogy director Dario Argento refers to as “The Three Mothers,” which includes “Inferno (1980)” and “The Mother of Tears (2007).” Rated R and 99 minutes, “Suspiria” is recognized as one of the most influential films in the horror genre.
