Registration is now open for the Big Thicket Association’s Neches River Rally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 7, at 8 p.m. This family friendly event is a great way to experience the natural beauty of a Texas Paddling Trail, which is Cooks Lake to Scatterman. This scenic 4-to-5-mile loop captures the biological diversity of the Big Thicket National Preserve along the beautiful Neches River. Fees start at $15 for ages 12 and under, and $35 for 13 and older. To register, call (409) 790-5399. Entry fee includes a T-shirt and one meal ticket. Registration fees do not include a boat rental.
