The sixth annual Marsh Fest was created after 10-year-old Trevor Lee Chasson of Hamshire died during an ATV accident. The Southeast Texas communities including Winnie, Hamshire and Fannett, rallied to honor the legacy of Chasson by creating the event that features crawfish races, BBQ cookoff, team roping and kids’ zone. Live music scheduled this weekend includes Waylon Stoerner, Mud Creek Revival, Al White, Chip Oliphant, Mason Creager, Spencer Marks and Trent Cowie. The fest also provides scholarships to area schools like East Chambers, High Island and Hamshire-Fannett high schools.
