Battleship Texas led a distinguished 34-year career in the United States Navy. “Traveling on a City at Sea: The Story of the Battleship Texas,” is an exhibit that offers the opportunity to learn about the legendary warship’s extensive renovation currently underway at Gulf Copper Ship Repair and to ask questions about her history and future. Travis Davis, Vice President of Ship Operations for the Battleship Texas Foundation, will speak in the auditorium the Galveston Railroad Museum, on the ships’ restoration and future plans. Davis oversees the restoration of the ship guns and is planning the revitalization of the ship as a museum for the people of the State of Texas.
