Shane Berryhill, 13 of Beaumont, recently participated in the Summer Classic Bowling Tournament held by True Amateur Tournament at The Orleans in Las Vegas, Nevada.

With more than 1,100 bowlers from around the world in the tournament, Berryhill competed in the 189 and Under Division and was the lone youth competitor to reach the finals. He finished second and earned $1,500 in scholarship money.

Earlier this year, Berryhill won the U15 Division at the sixth annual Ed Calcote Tournament in Dallas/Fort Worth, which earned him a spot in the upcoming Junior Gold Championship held July 14-22 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
