A Hardin County woman was one of two people who died from injuries in a June 8 two-vehicle crash on FM 770 near the Hardin-Liberty county line.

According to a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) press release, a preliminary investigation indicates that, on June 8 at approximately 5:28 p.m., a 2015 Dodge pickup and a towed unit was southbound, followed by a 2008 Hyosung motorcycle. It was reported the pickup slowed to make a left turn into a private driveway when the motorcycle entered the northbound lane to pass, at which point it struck the pickup on its left side.

The passenger on the motorcycle, Mira Kaylin Brown, 32, of Batson, was transported to the Kingwood Medical Center with critical injuries. She was on life support when she died on June 14.

The motorcycle’s driver, Patrick Roth, 30, of Hull, was pronounced deceased on scene by Justice of the Peace Ronnie Davis.

The driver of the pickup and its passenger, both of Jasper, were uninjured.
