Two shot during break-in

The Newton Police Department is investigating a Jan. 11 shooting which left two people injured, reported KJAS.com.

Police Chief Will Jackson said officers were called to a home at 1000 block of Martin Luther King Drive after 10 p.m. when it was reported that someone had broken into a house and shot two people.

The chief said the two victims, an unidentified man and a teenage girl, were taken to a local hospital where they were treated for their injuries that are reportedly minor.

Jackson said the particular details were not available, pending completion of the investigation. No suspects have been identified as of press time.
