A business compliance check and a human trafficking investigation by several agencies discovered two Asian females were living and working inside the business without a license, reported the Beaumont Police Department (BPD).
BPD, assisted by Beaumont Code Enforcement, Beaumont Fire Marshal's Office, Homeland Security and an anti-trafficking specialist with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), conducted the business compliance check and a human trafficking investigation Oct. 13 at 99 Spa, located at 360 S. Martin Luther King.
BPD reported the investigation was prompted by numerous complaints and allegations of prostitution, trafficking and narcotics at the location. Officers located the two females that were living and working inside the business without a license. Investigators located evidence indicating sexual acts were taking place inside the business.
Both workers were made to leave the premises by TDLR and the business was subsequently closed. No other information has been release and BPD stated the investigation is still on-going.
