The title of state champions remains as prestigious as ever, and SHS GOLD! Robotics adds it once again to their list of accolades. For the second consecutive year, team SHS GOLD! has emerged victorious in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) State Robotics competition.

Coach, educator and mentor Vic Miller said he attributed the remarkable achievement to the exceptional work ethic exhibited by the students.

“These students possess remarkable dedication, consistently impressing me with their unparalleled work ethic and the remarkable successes they achieve,” said Miller.

According to the UIL, the inception of UIL Robotics occurred as a pilot program during the 2015-2016 school year. Following three prosperous years as a pilot initiative, Robotics attained official recognition as a UIL contest, commencing with the 2018-2019 academic year.

SHS GOLD! will compete once again, this time, at the Regional World Qualifier Tournament on Feb. 24, vying for a spot at world title.
