Texas Oncology broke ground June 15 on a new 32,000-square-foot cancer care center that promises to enhance the level of cancer care available to patients in Southeast Texas. Located on the CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth hospital campus, the new comprehensive cancer center will provide medical oncology, radiation oncology, gynecologic oncology, chemotherapy, genetic counseling and lab services, as well as provide clinical trials. Radiation services will be provided in collaboration with CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth.

“Texas Oncology has a longstanding commitment to caring for cancer patients in Southeast Texas, as it was among the first to provide oncology services in Beaumont more than 30 years ago,” said Scott A. McKenney, M.D., FACP, medical director and medical oncologist and hematologist at Texas Oncology–Beaumont. “With the new center, we will be able to increase access to leading edge cancer care, allowing patients to receive high-quality care with minimal disruption to their lives.”

The new cancer center, located at 3010 Harrison Ave. in Beaumont, is being developed by Cottonwood Development. McCarthy Building Companies Inc. serves as the general contractor. The new center is expected to open in the spring of 2023.
