The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) presents its popular Free Family Arts Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, at the downtown museum, Main St.

Art activities, along with live clay demonstrations from ceramicist Greg Busceme, will correlate with AMSET’s current exhibition, James C. Watkins: Reflections

Made of Memories, on view through March 19 in the main gallery and Conn Gallery. This Family Arts Day will be held indoors. Children and their families will create unique artwork such as Clay Vessels, Valentine’s Day Cards, Mardi Gras Cookies, Scratch Art, and President’s Day Beards.

Complimentary cookies and punch will be provided. A concession stand serving ballpark-style food will also be available.

There will be two clay demonstrations from ceramicist Greg Busceme at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., as well as free henna designs by Laila Merani. Throughout the day, AMSET will draw winners for baskets of art supplies.

Admission to this event is free and open to the public and all materials are provided. For more information, visit amset.org or call (409) 832-3432.
