A pair of Hardin County men were arrested the week of Jan. 22, according to the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO).

Sheriff Bryan Weatherford reports that deputies stopped a passenger car on FM 92, south of Fred, near the 92 Restaurant, for a traffic violation. While approaching the vehicle, deputies observed an item thrown out of the passenger-side window.

The driver of the vehicle, 44-year-old Rodney Burnett, of Silsbee, and 19-year-old passenger Zachary Broom, of Lumberton, was both arrested.

According to TCSO, Broom admitted throwing a glass “meth” pipe from the vehicle that was later found by deputies. Burnett was arrested for driving without a license and no proof of insurance. Broom was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were transported to the Tyler County Jail.
