Beaumont firefighters battled a blaze investigators are calling arson on Saturday, Nov. 8.

According to a news release from Beaumont Fire Rescue, firefighters responded to reports of a house in flames in the 2400 block of Durden Street in Beaumont. Firefighters were able to contain the fire within 20 minutes of arrival to the location. No one was injured as a result of the blaze.

Around noon on Wednesday, Nov. 4, the last fire engine rolled away from burnt bricks, charred beams and ash, the only remnants of the once beautiful Ridgewood Retirement Center.

Tuesday, Nov 4, at 10:27 a.m., Beaumont Fire Rescue units responded to a fire reported at the vacant retirement community at 2520 Interstate 10 E. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire conditions in the lobby and dining area of the hotel.

Beaumont firefighters battled a structure fire in the 1600 block of Ives Street on Nov. 5.

According to a news release from Beaumont Fire Rescue, units were dispatched to the blaze at about 1 a.m. When firefighters arrived at the residence on Ives, they found the dwelling heavily involved with fire. The fire was quickly extinguished but caused major fire damage to the home.

No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. The occupants returned home while firefighters were on the scene, and Red Cross was called to the assist them.

Fire damaged two units at Waterfall Apartments in Vidor.

Orange County Emergency Services District No. 1 responded to a fire Sunday, Oct. 19, at the Waterfall Apartments in Vidor.

About 2:12 p.m., the department received a call of a fire at a duplex apartment on Luther Circle and was on the scene at 2:17 p.m. The fire was extinguished around 20 minutes later, said Orange County Emergency Services District No. 1 Fire Chief Bryant Champagne.

A Beaumont man sustained minor injuries trying to fight a kitchen fire at his home on Campus Avenue Tuesday morning, Sept. 16.

Once he realized he could not extinguish the fire, he then drove to Fire Station No. 3 and reported to firefighters his house was on fire, Beaumont Fire and Rescue said in a press release. Fire suppression units responded to the home, where they discovered the kitchen on fire. They conducted fire suppression activities and were able to extinguish the fire within minutes.

Beaumont firefighters responded to an early morning structure fire at a vacant house on St. Helena Street on Aug. 6, and investigators reportedly believe it to have been the result of arson - the second apparently deliberately set fire reported within a week's time.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, 2014, Beaumont Fire Rescue units responded to a reported structure fire at 905 Blanchette, downtown near MLK Parkway and College Street. When firefighters arrived, they found a vacant dwelling fully involved by flames.

Firefighters in Beaumont battled a residential blaze on July 31 that was apparently the result of arson, Beaumont Fire Resuce reports.

According to a news release, shortly after 1:00 a.m., Beaumont Fire Rescue suppression units responded to the report of a structure fire at in the 900 block of Avenue B. When firefighters arrived, they found a residential structure with fire in one exterior wall and spreading to the attic.

An early morning fire at the Oakwood Village Apartments in Orange caused damage to at least 12 apartment units, prompting a response by the American Red Cross.

Sunday morning, July 20, around 2:15 a.m. a fire broke out in a ground-level apartment at 521 N. 37th St., said Kathy Womack, property manager of Oakwood Village Apartments in Orange.
