A 44-year-old Galveston man has been sentenced to federal prison for bank robbery in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales in a Tuesday, July 29 press release.

Brett Maurice Disiere pleaded guilty on Dec. 11, 2013, to bank robbery and was sentenced to 240 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Thad Heartfield.

Beaumont P.D. Detectives and FBI Agents identified the suspect as Christopher M. Thomas, 23, from Houston in the robbery of a Beaumont bank. BPD Detectives and FBI agents were able to obtain a federal arrest warrant for Thomas. Investigators conducted a manhunt that spanned for several days in Houston.

A 50-year-old Cameron, Louisiana man has been sentenced to federal prison for bank robbery in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales on Jan. 27.

Allen Keith Miller pleaded guilty on August 28, 2013, to bank robbery and was sentenced to 57 months in federal prison on January 24, 2014, by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone.

Police arrested 49-year-old Allen Keith Miller of Cameron, La., on the night of June 25, 2013, in connection with a bank robbery at the Capital One in Orange earlier the same day.

West Orange Police are still searching for the man who robbed the Firestone Community Federal Credit Union at 2101 Macarthur Drive in West Orange on Sept. 6. Witnesses describe the gunman as about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. During the robbery, the suspect wore dark coveralls, a maroon ski mask covering his face and head, sunglasses and gloves on his hands. Tellers gave the thief an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled the scene.

A 46-year-old Daisetta man that became knows as the “Tall, Dark and Handsome Bandit” has been sentenced to federal prison for a string of bank robberies, including two in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales.

John Steven Stark pleaded guilty to two counts of bank robbery and was sentenced to 169 months (more than 14 years) in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Ron Clark. Stark was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $5,390.17.
