Port Arthur police have asked for the public’s help finding a fugitive they suspect played a role in the death of a three-year-old child. The boy’s mother and sister have already been arrested for injury to a child.

PAPD needs help locating 24-year-old Jaylin Jevon Lewis, who they believe played a role in the death of King Dewey, a three-year-old child with special needs.

“Baby King was found deceased at a residence in the 300 block of Richmond Avenue on May 31, 2022,” PAPD officers reported. “If anyone knows the whereabouts of Lewis, they are asked to contact the Port Arthur Police Department at (409) 983-8600. This incident is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Port Arthur Police Department.”

From the original release:

After finding the body of a three-year-old, special-needs child in his home May 31, Port Arthur police arrested the boy’s mom and sister for injury to a child, a first-degree felony.

Officers arrested Tina Louis, 43, and daughter Kristen Louis, 21, after finding Tina’s son dead inside their home, reporting, “Investigators found the child’s body to be in an extremely emaciated condition,” officers reported.

As of press time, Tina and Kristen appeared on the Jefferson County inmate roster with $750,000 bonds each. If convicted, the duo could face up to life in prison.
