UPDATE: After the daily briefing, the city of Beaumont announced three more positive cases in the city, two between the ages of 55 and 59, the other between the age of 85 and 90.
 

Earlier report: The following information from the Southeast Texas Regional Emergency Operations Center summarizes activities and developments related to COVID-19 in Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton, Orange, and Tyler counties:

Total calls received by Call Center – 1693

  • 174 calls received today
  • 756 have been referred for testing since call center opened on 3/20)
  • 83 were tested at the drive-through site today in Jefferson County
  • 14 were tested at the drive-through site today in Hardin County

In addition to the drive through testing site at the Jack Brooks Regional Airport, a second testing site opened today in Hardin County.  You will need an appointment and a patient identification number to be tested at either location. 

If you are experiencing symptoms (fever, dry cough, shortness of breath) or you believe you have been exposed to an infected individual, you can call 409-550-2536 to be evaluated for testing.  The Call Center is open 24-hours, seven days a week.
