Second man sought for defiling feline

Beaumont Police Department officers arrested one man and were searching for another on Sept. 21, related to an October 2021 video where suspects tortured and killed a cat while catching it all on camera.

According to police, the department received the disturbing video on Oct. 15, 2021, subsequent to a Crime Stopper’s tip. The video showed subjects torturing and killing a cat by setting it on fire, giving it narcotics, and kicking it, police report.

Special Investigators assigned to the Beaumont Police Special Assignment Unit identified suspects with the assistance of the FBI, as well as the United States Attorney’s Office, BPD reports. Two suspects, Donaldvan Williams, a 28-year-old Beaumont man, and Decorius Mire, a 23-year-old Beaumont man, were indicted federally.

Tuesday, Sept. 20,  Williams was arrested for his outstanding warrant. Officers were still searching for Decorius Mire as of press time.
