School gets new assistant principal

Hardin-Jefferson ISD officials announced Kelly Lietzke is the new assistant principal at Sour Lake Elementary School.

The H-J High School graduate has spent most of her career at China Elementary, where she launched its Early Childhood Special Education Department.

In other HJ news, seniors Isabel Wing and Rebecca Bennett placed second in the nation for their presentation of the HJ PALS program in the 2022 Educators Rising national competition. The pair competed in the Varsity Division of the Inside Our Schools contest. The national conference was held June 24-27 in Washington, D.C.
