Locomotive mishap leaves man hospitalized

Officers say an Amtrak train struck and injured a pedestrian in the 1300 block of W Curtis Ave in Orange at about 4 p.m. Dec. 22.

Orange Police Department (OPD) officers responded to the scene where they located a 49-year-old black man who was struck by a southbound train, according to a news release. He was transported to St. Elizabeth for treatment and was reported to be in critical condition, but stable at the time of this release.

Orange Police Department, Union Pacific Railroad Police, and Amtrack Railroad Police are investigating.
