After arriving home intoxicated and bloodied, a Port Arthur man allegedly choked his wife when she attempted to tend to him, according to a March 3 indictment.

Port Arthur police were dispatched to 1211 Dequeen Boulevard Dec. 11, 2020 just after 11 p.m. after a woman called advising her husband, Adam Sol, 38, assaulted her. Mrs. Sol told officers her husband arrived home intoxicated, with what appeared to be blood stains on his clothing. She believed he had gotten into a fight, the indictment details.

Just when she tried to inspect Sol’s injuries and inquire about the blood, his pugnacity reared its head again. Sol grabbed his wife by the neck with both hands and began to choke her, she told police. Sol eventually let go, leaving his wife gasping for air until she was able to call police. Sol was arrested and charged with assault, family violence -- a third degree felony.
