Officers recently arrested a former Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy, according to jail records from the Tyler County Sheriff’s office in Woodville.

Police arrested Johnathan Broussard Dees, 46, of Douchette, and charged him for indecency with a child and sexual contact. A judge set his bond at $75,000.

According to KJAS.com, Dees also worked for the Jasper Police Department. In 2011, Dees resigned from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office when it was revealed that he was under investigation for sexual assault of a child in a case from January 2003. He was indicted and arrested.

In 2016, according to KJAS.com reporting, Dees entered a guilty plea on a charge of indecency with a child by exposure in exchange for seven years of probation. He also had to register as a sex offender and he had to surrender his Texas Peace Officers license.

In February, Dees was arrested and charged with indecency with a child by exposing in a case alleged to have occurred in Orange County in July 2016. He has since bonded from the jail.
