The Rotary Club of Beaumont announced that the organization exceeded fundraising goals to help Ukraine as the war with Russia continues. Club Project Service Chair of the Rotary Club Lviv-International, Petro Chen, spoke virtually to the club on Wednesday, July 13, discussing various projects undertaken by the Lviv Club since the Russian invasion on Feb. 24.

Chen specifically spoke about the funds raised and sent by the Rotary Club of Beaumont, which will help the sister club in Ukraine purchase medical supplies for several area hospitals. In continuing support, the Rotary Club of Beaumont and Rotary E-Club 2000 in Zurich, Switzerland, has now raised funds to help the Rotary Club Lviv-International purchase a firetruck for the Lviv Regional Fire Department. The Swiss club has provided $10,000 and the Beaumont club is raising $13,000 to complete the purchase.

Also attending virtually was Fabian Krotz, the representative of the Swiss club partnering on the firetruck project. Anyone interested in helping with this project can donate at beaumontrotaryclub.org and look for the Stand With Ukraine icon.
