Houston area detectives traveled to Beaumont to apprehend a man they say was distributing child pornography into the metropolitan community from his apartment in Southeast Texas.

According to information from the office of Montgomery County Pct. 3 Constable Ryan Gable, the agency, assisted by members of the Houston-Metro Internet Crimes Against Children’s Task Force, conducted a search warrant on Keith Peterson’s apartment located in Beaumont.

“Pct. 3 detectives started this investigation due to Peterson sharing child sexual abuse media to detectives in The Woodlands,” Gable’s announcement detailed of the impetus of the Jan. 6 intervention. “Pct. 3 detectives obtained a search warrant and contacted the Beaumont Police Department for assistance.

“Because of the investigation, Peterson was arrested at his apartment and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.”

Peterson has been charged with five counts of possession with intent to promote child pornography.
