Kudos to the Beaumont Art League with the amazing art of Melody Montero-Ortiz, whose art is hanging throughout the museum. Her pieces were named Best of Show at the League’s 2022 Winter Show. The creative artist has around 66 paintings available for purchase and viewing on display through the month of June. “Oohing and aahing” over the wonderful art pieces were Paula Lovoi, Kit Ohmstede, Sheri and Bill Callahan, Pat Pickett, Josh Davis, Celia Crittenden, Bishop David Toups, Bonnie Vessel, Mark Kubala, Lynne Leningrad, Fanelli Menard, Belinda Brady, Karen and Mike Fuljenz, Mike Cacioppo, Tom Yezak, Annie Orchard, Faye Nelson, Bea Wood, Kathy Cloud, Seth T. Sadie, Sadie married lady… Madison Gober and Nick Leasure exchanged wedding vows last Saturday evening in front of family and small group of friends at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas and followed the nuptials with a celebration party with more of their contemporaries. The beautiful bride (inside and out) walked down the aisle with her father, Brit Gober, with her mom Kathy Gober and brother Colby Gober, as well as the groom parents, Mary Beth and Bill Leasure, proudly watched the intimate ceremony. Michael Cunningham officiated the loving vows exchanged by the couple. Other family members beaming during the ceremony were her grandfather Cole Gober, Donna Gober, William Gober, Leigh and Richard Gober, Ford Rouse, Kristy Simmons, Peggy Rouse Mahan, Dan’na and Josh Rouse, Judy Borchardt, Kirk Rouse, Hyunji and Mike Leasure. Longtime friends enjoying the matrimony were Emily and E.J Trevino, Ellen and William Estes, Katie and Jeff Beaver, Lindsay and Matt Gore, Amy and Jon Mallen, Niki Newberg, Isabella Fiorenza, Brieann and Randy Edwards, Sarah Fegley, Kourtney Jordan, Kristin McDonald, Crystal King, Demi Demas, Mikey Mazaraki, Ali Doty, Alec Bruney, Kadie and Seth Dornak, Mallory and Jeff Sandford, Lacey Ledoux, Danielle Cavaretta, Emily Payne, Grace and Luke Hermes, Hannah House, Jolene Crawford, Ann Lee, Kara Shaver, Kelli McKinley, Ken Reed, Lauren and Ethan Welch. Get those tickets… for AMSET’s 2023 Treasure Auction Double Take. After a five-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Treasure Auction is back and everyone will be seeing double. Join the fun at Art Museum of Southeast on Thursday, June 8, at 6:30 p.m. for the amazing auction. This year, AMSET has invited local artists to see double and donate pairings of paintings drawings, photography, sculptures and more. Past Treasure Auction items have included clocks, serving trays, carts, chairs, birdhouses and masks. The auction items will be on view in AMSET’s foyer June 2-8 for silent auction bids, then each piece in the live auction June 8 will open with the highest silent bid and go to the highest bidder that evening. Two Magnolias will also prepare a delicious buffet and libations through the night. Co-chairs for this unique fundraiser are Cat Holtzclaw and Lou Huber. Tickets are $50 per person and reservations are encouraged. See you there!
