Orange PD arrests teen for manslaughter

Friday, July 8, at about 3:30 a.m., the Orange Police Department Detective Division arrested a 16-year-old for manslaughter in the death of a 22-year-old Orange man.

Thursday, July 7, at 10:40 p.m., Orange police responded to the 400 block of Cypress Avenue in Orange in reference to a gunshot victim. When officers arrived, they discovered a black male with a gunshot wound, inside of a residence. Acadian Ambulance arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased. The victim was identified as Javien Bilbo, a 22-year-old Orange resident.

The juvenile arrested in connection to Bilbo’s death was booked into a local juvenile detention center, charged with manslaughter. The investigation is still ongoing at this time, police report.
